About Unkie

Unkie, also known as John Andrew Suchocki, writes college and high school science textbooks. This includes his flagship textbook Conceptual Chemistry as well as several other works for which he is a coauthor. Unkie obtained his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. He taught science at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and then at Leeward Community College where he recieved tenure. In addition to authoring textbooks and Styraki, Unkie is currently an adjunct faculty member at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont. He also produces science education multimedia through his company, Conceptual Productions (www.CPro.cc) and produces music through his recording label (www.CProMusic.com).

Unkie is married to Tracy and together they have three children: Ian, Evan, and Maitreya. The whole family has enjoyed working together to develop and produce Stryaki, whose mission is to help bring childhood science education to the community.
